Shrine to Dino
If you have found this page, I welcome you. It is not connected otherwise to any other page.
This very tiny corner of the internet is a shrine to Dino my dearest budgerigar companion. I got him in 2008 when he was only a few weeks old with two other budgies, Hilda and Rory. We was the sweetest and the most gentle of them—always singing, happy to see me, and never one to bite.
He and Rory were very important over the course of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I lived alone and during those months when we knew not what was going to happen. With little contact with others, they helped keep our home from feeling isolated.
Rory passed away in July of 2020 and for many months it was just me and Dino. It was very sad, but Dino and I had the opportunity to bond even more. While the world was a more open place working from home and still being cautious of groups of people, Dino was my only companion at home.
On May 26th, 2022, at the old age of fourteen, Dino passed away. Never did I expect his passing to be so hard but for how small his body was, his spirit, companionship, and presence were immense.
Fly high, Dino. I will dearly miss you.
